Karl Bottema

Karl is a very passionate hunter on land and in the water. From a young age he has enjoyed introducing and sharing this experience with others, whether it be hunting a Trophy bull Tahr or Spearfishing a Snapper.

Karl has worked as a professional hunting guide since 2014 in the South Island high country.

Karl believes it’s hard to beat the feeling when you help someone achieve a hunting goal or take a certain bucket list animal. It’s this desire that stemmed off his already huge passion for hunting Tahr, Chamois and Red stag. This drives Karl to want to continue to assist people in achieving their goals through a true wilderness New Zealand hunting experience. Karl has broadened his hunting horizons and now heads over annually to BC Canada to guide.

Sandy Heard

Owner/Guide

Sandy grew up on several hill country farms in the top of the South Island, NZ where he and his older brothers began hunting as youngsters. Red deer, pigs and goats were their game. 

When Sandy went on his first Tahr hunt in the Southern Alps his true passion was sparked. He has been a regular hunter of tahr, chamois and deer ever since. Sandy has worked as a hunting guide for a large privately owned hunting business in the  

North & Central Otago region and has also spent time guiding in Scotland and BC Canada during the off season.

He is excited to be taking clients into NZ’s wilderness.
